The OPRF School of Business has been partnering with Mr. Robert Johnson III from AXA for the last three years. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with the Retirement Benefits Group, a specialized division of AXA Advisors, LLC, Robert’s practice focuses on both financial and retirement planning for individuals and families. He also provides retirement and group benefits services for several school districts, municipalities and non-profit organizations in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. Robert began his career with AXA Advisors, LLC in 2004 and has successfully grown his practice every year. He is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, an organization recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the financial services industry. He was recently named a Five Star Wealth Manager in Chicago Magazine for 2013 and has achieved numerous accolades at AXA during his career.
A native of Wheaton, Illinois, Robert attended Glenbard South High School and went on to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While in Champaign, he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and completed his coursework in May 2001.
During that final semester of school, Robert was offered a position with a small company in Chicago as an Information System Consultant which was to begin in the fall. Unfortunately, he never worked for them as the company closed its doors shortly after the September 11th attacks.
Robert was able to secure employment on a contract basis, but was not fulfilled. He decided to prepare for graduate school so he could obtain a Master Business Administration degree. While attending the MBA program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he continued to work full time and was able to complete all required coursework in 20 months. Upon graduation, he began working for AXA and has not looked back. To show his lifelong dedication to the industry, Robert continues to educate himself and has completed coursework to become a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and successfully passed the Certified Financial Planner board exam to earn the title as CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Mr. Johnson works with Accounting and Investment classes within the OPRF School of Business. The students are informed about possible career paths within the investment industry. Other topics of discussion include beneficial strategies for early investments, assessment of investment requirements, and analysis of mutual funds. The OPRF School of Business students reap the benefit from working with a top tier financial planner.
